Getting started
What is ArgenFields?
A site to search, study and list farmland for sale and for rent in Argentina. Every property has a technical report built from public data —soil, climate, relief, water, cadastre, current use— shown on a map with dozens of layers.
We are not a real estate agency: we do not mediate, we do not charge a commission for the operation and we do not appraise properties. The contact between whoever publishes and whoever searches is direct.
Do I need an account?
To look at the map, the reports, the zones and the wiki, no. To publish a property, save the ones that interest you or contract a plan, yes.
You enter with Google, Microsoft or with a link that we send you by email. In no case is there a password.
Sign inWho is Tero?
The site's voice assistant. You can talk or write to it: it takes you to a place on the map, turns on layers, compares areas, explains what a piece of information means and answers questions about the plans.
With the free plan you get 20 questions per day. Turning on a layer or going to a page does not count as a question.
Search and study properties
What is the technical report of a property?
A summary of what is known about that polygon, crossing it with the map layers: soil type, land capability and productivity index, climate, relief and low-lying areas, watercourses, native forest, power lines, distance to towns and schools, what was planted, logistics and the satellite vigor of recent seasons.
Each piece of data shows where it came from and at what scale, so you know how much to trust it.
How many full reports can I open for free?
With the free plan you can see the full report of 3 properties per week. The quota resets on Mondays, and reopening a property you already viewed that week does not count again.
After the quota, report is still visible, but summarized. The native forest alert is always seen complete, with or without a plan: it is the information that can prevent a ruinous purchase.
See the plansCan I see the report of a property that is not published?
Yes. On the map you can tap a cadastral parcel, draw the boundary by hand or open a KML, KMZ or GeoJSON file. Any of the three builds its report.
Go to the mapWhy aren't plots appearing in my area?
The plots are published by each provincial cadastre, and not all provinces do so openly. Where there is none, draw the property by hand or open its file: the report is created the same.
How do I compare properties?
From the listings, a listing page or a parcel on the map, add them to the comparison and you see them side by side, figure by figure. With the free plan you can compare 2 properties at a time and make 2 comparisons per week.
Open the comparisonCan I download the boundary of a property?
Yes, from the report or the listing: as KMZ or KML to open in Google Earth, or as GeoJSON for a GIS. It is free on every plan.
Post a listing
How do I post a property?
Signed in, go to “Post a farmland listing”: pick the parcel on the map, draw it or open its file, fill in the price and description and upload the photos. While you build it you already see the technical report that will go with the listing.
We review every listing before it goes live —that it is complete, real and correctly located— and email you when it is published or, if something needs fixing, what.
Post a farmland listingHow much does it cost to publish?
With the free plan you can have 3 listings published at a time, with up to 6 photos each. Plus raises that to 15 listings and 20 photos, and Pro to 60 listings and 40 photos.
We do not charge commission for the sale or for the rental, in any plan.
See the plansWhat is a featured listing?
A listing that appears first in the results. Plus lets you have 1 featured at a time and Pro 5. You turn it on and off whenever you want from “My listings”; it stops being featured if you pause the listing or your plan ends.
Who sees my phone?
Whoever asks for it. Your contact details are not written on the listing page: they are shown when someone presses the button to see them, so a program crawling the site cannot collect them. When someone asks for them, we let you know by email.
How do I edit, pause or remove a listing?
From “My listings”. A paused listing is no longer visible but keeps its photos and report, and you can publish it again whenever you want.
My listingsCan I have one page with all my listings?
Yes. From “My page” you set up your seller page, with its own address, your description, your social networks and all your listings together. It works the same for a real estate agency as for a direct owner.
My pagePlans and payments
What changes between the plans?
The map, layers, zones, wiki and native forest alert are free for everyone. The plans lift the weekly quota of reports and comparisons, add listings, photos and featured slots, and expand AI requests and the satellite vigor history.
Plus costs USD 9 per month or USD 79 per year; Pro, USD 29 per month or USD 259 per year. Pro also includes analytics for your listings.
See the plansHow does the free trial work?
The trial is 7 days of Plus. You need to add a card and the first charge is made when the trial ends, unless you cancel before: we show you the exact date before you confirm and remind you by email three days before it ends.
What currency is it charged in?
In US dollars, by card, processed by Stripe. Depending on your bank and country, a foreign-currency payment may carry taxes or charges that we do not collect: check your card statement.
How do I cancel the plan?
From “My plan”, in your account, without having to write to anyone. The plan stops renewing and you keep everything until the date you already paid for.
Within ten calendar days of subscribing you can withdraw and request a refund, as required by Resolution 424/2020. Write to us through the form on this page.
My planCan I change my plan?
You can upgrade at any time from “My plan”. Moving to a smaller plan does not happen mid-period: you cancel the current plan, which runs until the paid date, and then subscribe to the one you want.
What happens to my listings if my plan expires?
Nothing is deleted. Your oldest listings stay published up to the free plan limit and the rest are paused, with their photos and report. You can choose which ones are shown, and if you subscribe again, the paused listings are published again on their own.
The data
Where does the data come from?
From public organizations and open sources: the INTA for soils and crops, the IGN for relief, water courses, towns and schools, the provincial cadastres for the plots, the Secretariat of Energy for the electrical grid, the Ministry of Agriculture for the yields, CHELSA for the climate and the Sentinel-2 images of the Copernicus program for vigor.
Every figure in the report cites its source. The wiki explains what each one measures.
Go to the wikiHow accurate is the data?
The data is indicative. A 1:50,000 soil survey map cannot see what happens inside a small paddock, and a 1:500,000 one describes the region, not the property. That is why each figure shows its scale, and where no soil survey exists we say so instead of filling in with an average.
They are useful for comparing properties and ruling options out quickly. For a purchase decision they do not replace a soil study or walking the property.
I found some data that is wrong. What do I do?
Tell us through the form below, with the link to the report or the listing. If the error is in the original source we cannot fix it ourselves, but we can let the publisher know.
Your account
How do I delete my account?
From “My account”, where everything we store about you is also listed. Deletion is immediate and removes your user, your listings, your photos, the properties you saved and your notifications.
My accountHow do I change my name, email or account type?
You change the account type —direct owner or real estate agency— yourself from “My account”. Your name and email are managed by the provider you sign in with; to correct them, write to us.
