News

How the news is made

Where it comes from

Every few minutes an automated system reads Argentina's specialized agriculture media, general newspapers and outlets in the United States and Brazil that cover what moves prices here. It groups the headlines about the same event and assesses how much it matters to those who farm, trade or invest in Argentina.

Only high- or medium-impact news is written up: government measures, market-moving reports, weather events, changes in foreign trade. Opinion pieces, interviews and advertising are left out.

How they are written

An artificial intelligence reads the articles from the outlets that published the story and extracts the facts: what happened, who said it, when and with what figures. The story is written from that list, attributing each fact to whoever reported it, and never from another outlet's text.

To every story we add what we know: the board price of the grain in question, the soil, rainfall and yield profile of the district where it happened, or the wiki concept you need to understand it. That is the «What this means» section.

What is checked before publishing

No one reads the stories before they are published, so the system checks them: every figure must appear in the facts from the sources or in our data, no sentence may repeat another outlet's text except a named quote in quotation marks, and every quote must appear verbatim in the article it comes from. A story that fails those checks is not published.

The English and Portuguese translations are also made with AI and checked the same way: they must keep every figure and every block of the original. If one fails, the story is published without that translation.

The images

We do not use photos from other outlets or AI-generated images. Each story carries a card with a figure from the news, the board price and its trend, a map of where it happened, or a public-domain stock photo labeled as illustrative, with its author and license.

Errors and corrections

If you find an error in a story, write to us from the help page with the link to the story. Stories with errors are corrected or withdrawn, and a withdrawn story is no longer available.
